Michurinsk State Agrarian University is one of the oldest Russian agricultural institutions of higher education. It has become well-known due to its unique scientific research in the sphere of horticulture, as well as due to the training of qualified agricultural professionals.
Michurinsk State Agrarian University used to be a Lawn-and-Garden Institute organized on the initiative of Ivan V. Michurin in 1931. In 1934 it was renamed Fruit-and-Vegetable Growing Institute, and in 1999 the institute was given a status of a university.

International students of Michurinsk State Agrarian university visited the museum-estate of the USSR artist A.M. Gerasimov and took part in the annual event "Night of Museums". The museum prepared an interesting and varied program, which included a tour of the museum's exhibition halls and a master class of watercolor drawing "Apple trees in blossom".
On May 17, 2022, the acting rector of Michurinsk State Agrarian university Sergey Zhidkov and Vice-Rector for Education and Youth policy Sergey Solovev held a meeting with more than 100 students.
The meeting was organized in the "question-answer" mode. The head of the university presented active students with letters of thanks for participating in regional, city and university events.
An online meeting on cooperation between educational institutions in the scientific and educational spheres between Michurinsk SAU and Qingdao agricultural universities was held.
During the online meeting, the parties decided to develop student and teacher academic exchanges, joint participation in scientific conferences on agricultural topics and grant programs, as well as to organize distance learning courses in Russian and Chinese for university students.
On March 5, the Michurinsk State Agrarian University hosted a meeting for active international students and students of the preparatory training course in Russian language. Shrovetide is one of the most cheerful holidays of the year, which is widely celebrated in Russia. The students got acquainted with the history of the holiday, were able to taste traditional Russian treats: pancakes with tea, and also discuss all their questions.
